  • Vikings vs Lions: GMG In The Raw! Getting it done again

Good morning Horners! Aren’t victory Monday’s great? Your Minnesota Vikings ran all over the Detroit Lions on the way to a 34-20 win. Dalvin Cook was again the star with 252 all purpose yards, 206 of them on the ground. He had a 9.4 yard per play average. That is outstanding and murmurs of MVP are starting to rise. Adrian Peterson watched and was impressed if you saw his expressions. He wasn’t the only one either. Where you? For the second week in a row, the Vikes seemed to have found a winning formula with improved O-line play, running the rock and limiting Kirk Cousins to 20 passing attempts. It was an efficient game plan by the offense. Will it carryover to next Monday night against the better defense of the Chicago Bears? The defense was still a cobbled together unit with even Chris Jones playing at corner. I was asking who’s that too. LOL. The D may not have been pretty and gave up a lot of yards between the 20’s, but they did stiffen in the redbone for the most part, and they generated 3 interceptions on the day, one each by Eric Wilson, Eric Kendricks and Harrison Smith. They combined to hold the Lions to just 20 points… The lowest so far this season. Will this unit keep improving? Flip Mazzi, Drew and Dave enjoyed the game and commenting on it afterwards with viewers, and if you missed it after the game you can relive it here. • Vikings vs Lions: GMG Pregame Show

Vikings vs Lions… Good morning Horners! We have another division rival coming to town to play your Minnesota Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium. The Vikings coming off the win against the Packers with face the 3-4 Detroit Lions that could be less Matt Stafford due to him being put on the Covid list. He could clear as early as Sunday morning then fly to Minneapolis in time for the game. We know Kenny Golladay has already been called out, so which Lions team shows up is in question. Which Vikings team, the motivated one from last week or the flat one from the previous home games showing up is in question too. Which one do you think shows? Dalvin Cook had a great game lest Sunday matching the 4 TD performance of Ahmad Rashad and Chuck Foreman. Will he do it again? Will Kirk Cousins have to pass more? As Drew points out, with Dalvin’s performance from last week, the play action pass is set up from the first offensive play of the game. Can we see that fake handoff and then Kirk bomb it deep to a streaking Justin Jefferson or Adam Thielen? Will the offensive line coming off their best game in years continue to play well? Dave asks if last Sunday was an attitude change point for them? Did they gel? Old friends Adrian Peterson and Everson Griffen come to town, and as we saw, Everson got offended being called good by Mike Zimmer and promises to show that he is great. Riley Reiff might have something to say about that. It will be fun to watch. • Vikings vs Packers: GMG In The Raw! Dalvin Cook on Fire

Good morning Horners! A day after the Minnesota Vikings went to Lambeau Field and defeated division rival Green Bay Packers, the win is still so sweet. In a day where weather was an absolute factor, with wind gusts anywhere from 40 to 50 miles an hour, running the ball seem to be key. Dalvin Cook stood out and took the game over. He had 226 all-purpose yards and 4 touchdowns giving the Vikings their first win over a Matt LaFleur coached team. Mike Zimmer had his hands full, especially in the second half when injuries started to decimate the Viking secondary. Coming into the game they were already short handed, but due to a hit by a teammate on Cameron Dantzler, and Kris Boyd suffering what looked like a knee injury, Zimmer had to manufacture coverage in a way he hadn’t before. At the end of the game, Anthony Harris was playing nickel because there was nobody left. Even Adam Thielen volunteered to play corner if needed. But it was in the second half, and with all those substitutions that Zimmer schemed a way to stop the Packers offense. After dominating the third quarter offensively, as fans we all knew to just wait for the collapse. Then the Packers scored, made a two point conversion, and got the ball back with 57 seconds left. We’d all seen this story before and knew the ending, all except for rookie defensive end DJ Wonnom. What a sweet way to end the game. Ted Glover, Flip Mazzi, Drew and Dave enjoyed the performance, and if you missed it after the game you can relive it here. Thanks go out to everyone who joined the live show. • Vikings vs Packers: GMG Pregame Show

Vikings vs Packers… Good morning Horners! It is Packers week and if there is one more game we win this season, you wanted to be this one, right? Let’s talk your Minnesota Vikings as they travel up to Green Bay to play their division rivals, the Packers in Lambeau Field. Mike Zimmer is currently 0-4 against Matt Lafleur and the question is will he go 0-5 by the end of the Sunday? The Vikings are coming off their bye week where some of their injured players looked to have gotten a little healthier. Dalvin Cook is questionable for the game, but everything is pointing to him playing. Troy Dye has come off of IR, was activated and may start or get significant playing time. The corners however are pretty banged up. Jeff Gladney will be one of the starters, and at the last minute it looks like Cameron Dantzler has been activated off of Covid IR, but the other one looks to be Mark Fields or Harrison Hand. How will these young players do against Aaron Rodgers and Devante Adams this time around is a big question. The Vikes are currently 1-5 with a good chance of going down to 1-6 after this game. How much hotter will the seat get for Mike Zimmer and Rick Spielman if that is the case? Do the Wilf’s see what the fans do? Kirk Cousins has been having his worst season of his career with 10 interceptions so far, but now that the pressure is basically off, will he come out and play the best game of the season? Can the offense win in a shootout? If they can, please let it be this game!
