Join us for the a live mock draft. Climbing The Pocket, a Daily Norseman partner, win run live mock drafts every Monday night. This is an exercise where we see how the boards fall and who is traditionally there to be available to the Vikings. There are plenty holes and options to fill them. Who do you like? Jump in the conversion and let us know! Round 1, Pick 32: QB Trey Lance, NDSU My number 2 quarterback in the class, Lance is a little bit raw but has every tool in the toolbox. While he would be best suited to have a redshirt season, a run-heavy offense like the Vikings wide zone would give him the best chance at success right away. Round 2, Pick 56: DL Jay Tufele, USC A true 3 down 3 technique, Tufele possesses a quick first step and great hands. He would be a great addition for a desperate Vikings defensive line. Round 3, Pick 78: S Richie Grant, UCF After a fantastic week in Mobile, Grant showed that he was great in coverage and has enough speed to play center field. Round 3, Pick 90: S Hamsah Nasirildeen, Florida State At 6’3”, Nasirildeen has the versatility to play numerous positions on defense. Pairing him with Grant would give the Vikings the safety duo they need once they choose to move on from Harrison Smith. Round 3, Pick 95: WR Tylan Wallace, Oklahoma State With the Vikings already having two versatile receivers, they can be selective on who they choose. Wallace is the best on the board. While he isn’t an elite athlete, Wallace has good route running skills and is great as a deep threat. Round 4, Pick 118: EDGE Joe Tryon, Washington As a great athlete, Tryon is the type of selection that the Vikings prioritize on day 3. If he can add a few pounds to his light frame, the Vikings may have found the guy to start opposite Danielle Hunter. Round 4, Pick 124: EDGE Rashad Weaver, Pittsburgh With all of the defensive line issues concerning the Vikings, taking Weaver along with Tryon helps fortify the unit. While there are some questions about his ability in the running game, Weaver has a bevy of pass rush moves that will help him win at the next level. Round 4, Pick 134: DL Tedarrell Slaton, Florida Continuing the run on defensive lineman, Slaton is a true run-stopping nose tackle that thrives at controlling the line of scrimmage. Round 4, Pick 142: WR Josh Imatorbhebhe, Illinois A hyper athlete, Imatorbhebhe can jump right out of a gym. With the glut of talent ahead of him, Imatorbhebhe will be given the time to develop. The Vikings love their top tier athletes on day 3. Fan with us!!!
